Brotherly Blog: The 2019 Holiday Edition!

"Welcome" to those of you joining us for the first time since our holiday card invitation, and "welcome back" to those of you who are our faithful followers!  Now that the holidays are over and all the grandparents, aunts and uncles have gotten their Christmas gifts of our most recent family pictures, I can share them with you all.  The above picture was put into our newest church directory, and because Porter and I are so darn cute, we also took this shot the same day.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get you caught up on life in Woodland, CA!  Enjoy your virtual visit, and don't forget that we always love real visitors, too!

Love,
Cooper

November:  When soccer ended, we had more time to enjoy the beautiful Fall days.  On this day, we went out to the Yolo Bypass with our purses (yes, you read that right!) full of notebooks, cameras and more, to see what we could find and enjoy nature!

We worked hard on special school assignments like Porter's speech to run for Student Council Representative (which he won!) and my homework assignment to design and create a way to hide a turkey, so it didn't get eaten for Thanksgiving!

Soon it was Thanksgiving Week Break! We enjoyed another visit from Aunt Sheralyn from Tillamook, Oregon, then several days in the Bay Area for Thanksgiving Weekend.  While in Sunnyvale we got to see our Houston cousins who have moved back to San Jose (yea!), go on walks, donate toys to the Sunnyvale Fire Department (and in return got to RIDE on the fire trucks again!) and had our annual Friendsgiving in SF with all the Santa Clara Cousins.

December came really fast this year and before we knew it, Aunt Ronda came from Texas to visit us.  Memaw was supposed to come too, but she had to have surgery on her eye unexpectedly and her doctor wouldn't let her get on an airplane.  Mean ol' doctor! 😕  We wore Aunt Ronda out with "popper wars"(a favorite toy that is always packed up with the Christmas decorations), picking out our Christmas Tree and our church Christmas Pageant.

The church play was called "What a Rotten Christmas" and pictures and videos can be found at this link.  Mommy took all the pictures and videos for the participating families, and Papa got a few more the day of, so hopefully looking at the pictures on the link will make you feel like you were there!

The rest of the month we baked holiday treats for friends and families, had our annual Holiday Open House, did fun activities at school and excitedly counted down the days until Christmas!

Porter was named honorary elf "Lugnut Cocobee"
on the last day of school before break.
And I made this gingerbread house COOKIE on the last day of school before break (it was delicious, NOT too pretty to eat!) 😁

When Christmas finally did come we had two "Face Time Christmases" (one with Memaw and one with Aunt Bernedette and Uncle Gary); then Nana, Papa & Gruncle (Tom) came to us on Christmas Eve through Christmas.  There was lots of good food and it was special to be at our house and not only stay in our jammies all day on Christmas Day, but immediately tear into our new Legos!  On the 26th, Nana and Papa left and  Graunty (Margaret) and Uncle Cliff came from Austin for a few days.  To see all of that fun, click here!

January got off to a fun start with two New Year's Eve "East Coast" parties, including one at the Villagers (we got to stay up until 9pm!!!)!  We spent an evening with Uncle Ken, got to ride in "cousins" Maggie & Gillian's 1931 Model A, celebrated my half-birthday (I got an Olaf Lego to go with my new Frozen Lego Castle!) and we've gotten back down to work at school and with our creations at home - never a dull moment! Can't wait to see what February and March have in store, how about you?! 😉
